Adil Usman, MD

Dr. Adil Usman is a Board Certified Dermatologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Usman graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then attended medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City. After doing an internship in Internal Medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, he completed his dermatology residency training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, where he served his last year as Chief Resident.

Dr. Usman has published several papers in dermatology journals. His excellent clinical and surgical skills as well as bedside manners have made him the dermatologist of choice for thousands of patients and several referring primary care physicians.

Dr. Usman was voted as Top Doctor by the Washingtonian Magazine and the Northern Virginia Magazine. When he is not practicing dermatology, Dr. Usman enjoys spending time with his family and riding his bike.

Amor Khachemoune, MD

Dr. Amor Khachemoune is a Board Certified Dermatologist, Dermatopathologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society of Lasers in Medicine & Surgery.

Dr. Khachemoune attended Medical school at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and had subsequent general and cosmetic dermatology training in France.

After moving to the U.S., Dr. Khachemoune did his dermatology residency training at Georgetown University, where he also served as Chief Resident in his last year. His subspecialty fellowship training included wound healing at Boston University, laser surgery at Harvard, Dermatopathology and Mohs micrographic surgery at the State University of New York.

Dr. Khachemoune has published 10 book chapters and over 230 articles in peer reviewed medical journals. He is on the editorial board of 15 medical journals. He is fluent in Arabic and French.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Khachemoune loves to teach medical students and residents and research rare and interesting dermatology cases. He is married with two children.

Steve Flax, MD

Dr. Flax was born and raised in Upstate New York. He attended Carnegie Mellon University, where he graduated with University Honors. He subsequently went to medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, on an Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship. After graduating, he completed an internal medicine internship and residency at State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse. Next, he practiced internal medicine for 6 years in the United States Navy. He then completed a dermatology residency at the National Naval Medical Center. Since leaving the Navy he has practiced dermatology in Winchester, Virginia and Hagerstown, Maryland for many years.

Dr. Flax has published several papers in the peer-reviewed literature as well as presenting at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is board-certified in both dermatology and internal medicine. He is interested in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology with a special interest in psoriasis and skin cancer.

Darci Barger, PA-C

Darci Barger, PA-C joined Premier Dermatology in 2020.

 She earned a Masters of Science, in Physician Assistant Studies from Alderson-Broaddus College in May 2008. Darci received her Physician Assistant Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants in June 2008 and Recertification in April 2013 

 Prior to joining Premier Dermatology, Ms. Barger worked as a Dermatology Physician Assistant for over 12 years. She is knowledgeable in all aspects of modern dermatology including diagnosis and treatment of all medical concerns, as well as skin cancer exams and treatments. She has special interests in a multitude of areas including acne and skin cancer prevention. Dedicated to superior patient care and education, Ms. Barger welcomes adult and pediatric patients.

 She has affiliations with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the West Virginia Dermatologic Society. In her free time she enjoys yoga, hiking, and spending time with her dog Nala. 

Darci Barger, PA-C

Darci Barger joined Premier Dermatology in 2020 and has over 12 years of experience as an Adult and Pediatric Dermatology Physician Assistant. She earned a Masters of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Alderson-Broaddus College in May 2008 and has been certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Ms. Barger is knowledgeable in most aspects of medical dermatology including acne, eczema, rashes, rosacea, psoriasis, molluscum, hair loss, warts and skin cancer prevention. She works closely with Drs. Usman and Khachemoune to deliver superior patient care and education.

She has affiliations with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the West Virginia Dermatologic Society. In her free time she enjoys yoga, hiking, and spending time with her dog Nala.

Sarah Cabrisses, PA-C

Sarah Cabrisses is a board certified Physician Assistant who has over six years of experience in general dermatology. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from Virginia Tech and earned a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Shenandoah University.

Sarah joined Premier Dermatology in 2021 and is excited to be practicing in her hometown. She is passionate about dermatology and can diagnose and treat most skin conditions.

Sarah has affiliations with the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants
